B-K Electric, Inc.'s Government Sales Policy

B-K Electric, Inc. has established the following policies for all sales and planning assistance to first responder or government agencies:

Public safety employees and volunteers deserve only the best, most dependable, durable and interoperable equipment reasonably available.

We require that all requests for quotes, bids or proposals:

bullet

comply with an overall master plan for communications systems, and

bullet

adhere to all current state-of-the-art industry technical standards, and

bullet

comply with all interoperability guidelines as determined by the appropriate governing agency,  and

bullet

be entirely "open standard" and in no way proprietary to any one  vendor or manufacturer including our own, and

bullet

be forward compliant with all anticipated standards for the next ten years, and

bullet

be backward compliant with existing equipment as practical, and

bullet

comply with the applicable U.S. D.O.D. Military Standards to assure that the equipment purchased is suitable for daily use by public safety organizations and first responders whose lives and well being may depend on the equipment.

We simply refuse to sell "farm radios" to public safety organizations. "Good enough" isn't good enough.

  1. We promise to always bid or quote our our most competitive GSA or government price in any request from any tax-supported entity, and to sell all subsequent or non-bid equipment at similar pricing levels.
  2. We require that all purchase decisions made with public funds be based upon real, honest, competitive consideration of all prospective vendor's equipment meeting suitable state-or-the-art and public safety equipment standards, and refuse to be the sole equipment or service provider considered.
  3. We require that all major purchases of equipment or services be based on honest competitive bidding with strict adherence to the stated specifications.
  4. We will provide technical or engineering assistance at no charge or at a "zero-profit" basis to any volunteer or "budget disadvantaged" public safety or first responder agency in planning long term interoperable communications,  provided that such action meets all of these guidelines and we are a potential vendor, or equipment or service provider.
  5. We will provide at no charge appropriate assistance to any volunteer or "budget disadvantaged" public safety or first responder agency in writing grant applications or requesting other funding. All such bid requests or requests for proposals shall be written so as to allow entry from multiple, competing manufacturers or vendors. We also require that all requests for bids or proposals pass a "reality check" for real-world suitability.
  6. For any first responder organization mobile or portable radio sold by us and less than 5 years old, we promise repair or loaner replacement within 24 hours. Period. All other first responder communications equipment will be addressed within 24 hours, 365 days a year. We will not charge for radio re-programming while any unit sold by us is under warranty,
  7. We desire only a competitive, level playing field with strict adherence to suitable public safety bid specifications. We will withdraw our bid from any situation in which the purchase decision varies from the stated specifications, involves substandard equipment, or is based upon preferential treatment or "good 'ole boy" favoritism, and we will aggressively pursue legal or other remedial action in any situation where the highest degree of fairness, professionalism and technical standards are not met, whether we are an active participant or not.
